Last chance: Final week before the career fair — Joyce’s Career Tip of the Week

Over the past several weeks, I’ve been writing about preparing for the career fair. Some of you have already fine-tuned and polished your résumé (and had it reviewed), have your professional attire ready to wear, identified and researched your top companies and thought about what you are going to say. Since it’s impossible to be over prepared, you can spend time this week doing more research on companies and practicing your pitch — that 30 second commercial you will use to introduce yourself to employers. (Remember to practice out loud.)

If you have not yet begun preparing, don’t panic! The Fulton Schools Career Center is offering workshops this week.

Jori Psencik, University Recruiting Manager from Texas Instruments, will be giving presentations on Friday, February 24, 2017. I hope that many of you will take advantage of this special opportunity to learn about career fairs and interviewing from the viewpoint of a hiring manager! The noon and 3 p.m. presentations are the same. Select those that best fit your schedule.
