The last week of the semester — Joyce’s Career Tip of the Week

This is the last week of the semester. Final exams are next week. It is time to wrap up all of the hard work you have been doing since January.

If you have not yet secured a job after graduation or a summer internship, this is not the time to worry about it!

Professional staff and peer career coaches will be working through the summer. We will be available for individual appointments in person or by phone and Skype.

On Tuesday, May 15, 2018, students and new graduates who can come to the Tempe campus can attend a day-long career conference. We will cover the basics of résumé writing, job seeking, networking and interviewing. There will be employers and alumni sharing experiences about the transition from student to intern/professional employee and college to the workplace. They will be giving tips on what makes one successful.

You will have an opportunity to practice networking during lunch. There will be pizza!

At 2 p.m., you will have a chance for one-on-one résumé reviews. There will also be a presentation by an immigration attorney talking about CPT, OPT, H1-b visas and sponsorship. Sign up in Handshake to let us know you will be attending.

If you have been actively conducting a search for a job or internship, do remember to check your emails and voicemail messages. An employer just might be trying to contact you!
