Congratulations — Joyce’s Career Tip of the Week

Congratulations to all of our Fulton Schools graduates! Enjoy the celebrations this week. You have worked hard over the last several years. You deserve all of the fanfare, recognition and fun. Best wishes to all as you begin you professional careers. We hope that you will stay connected and come back to join us in the future — at Career Exploration Nights, recruiting at Career Fairs and helping students through panels and career fair prep sessions.

Kudos to all continuing students! You are one semester closer to your own graduation. Use your break to get caught up on sleep and have fun. Enjoy your time with friends and family. Be sure to take advantage of those opportunities to explain the technical to those who do not have a technical background. Do a good job answering your relatives’ questions about what you are studying in school. This is great practice for interviewing!

Take a bit of time to reflect on what you still need to do to obtain your summer internship or first professional position. Update your résumé and your profile in Handshake. Get ready for the spring recruiting season. It will be in full swing a few weeks after you return in January. If you are in town, plan to attend the Job and Internship Seeker’s Career Conference on Monday, December 17, 2018.

All of us in the Fulton Schools Career Center are proud of your accomplishments and delighted to work with you.
