Spring break — Joyce’s Career Tip of the Week

Spring break! This is a time for Fulton Schools students to relax, catch up on sleep, travel, spend time with friends — and get ready for the challenging, busy, often stressful end of the semester that is quickly approaching. Make this week a time to do things you enjoy with some time to get organized for what is ahead of you.

If you do not yet have a summer internship or a job after graduation, be sure to keep an eye on Handshake. New opportunities are posted every day. Also, set up filters so that you will be notified of postings that match your specifications.

Follow up with applications in progress. Very often, employers end up taking longer with the hiring process than what they originally stated. If you haven’t touched base with a recruiter in a while, reach out and let them know that you are still interested.

Peer career coaches will be working through spring break. This could be a good time for you to schedule an appointment — either in person, or by phone, if you are out of town.

Whatever you decide to do, be safe!
