Every year, O4U hosts a weekend-long professional development conference for high achieving, high potential LGBTQ+ undergraduate students who are studying engineering or interested in going into engineering. Despite the unprecedented change and immense uncertainty due to COVID-19, O4U remains committed to its mission while recognizing the safety and well-being of each and every student remains of utmost importance. As such, O4U has made the difficult decision to host all of our 2020 conferences virtually.
To ensure that we continue to recruit the most diverse and high achieving LGBTQ+ undergraduate student candidates, the 2020 O4U application remains open. O4U is an amazing opportunity for students to meet recruiters from a variety of engineering firms and universities, receive guidance from amazing mentors, and form meaningful, lasting connections with other LGBTQ+ people in their fields. To keep the conference accessible for all students, O4U has waived the $90 registration fee for all admitted students, making the conference free for these students. O4U is committed to ensuring all admitted students can attend this programming, especially in the new virtual format.
This year’s O4U Engineering Conference will be held virtually from Wednesday, September 9 through Sunday, September 13, 2020. The student application deadlines have been extended from our previously announced dates. The final round of our rolling admissions process closes on Sunday, June 14, 2020.
