Tom McCarthy is currently the Engineering Director for Common Digital Products, at Raytheon Missiles and Defense (RMD), which includes Model-Based Engineering, Embedded SW, and Performance Simulation frameworks.  He has worked in various leadership roles at Missile Systems for 19 years serving as the director of the Modeling, Simulation and Analysis Center (MSA) before his current role.

Prior to assuming that, he has served as deputy center manager for Advanced Systems Development Center and MSA; department manager within MSA; and lead engineer for an international consortium in pursuit of NATO Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) architecture development. In addition, he has served as simulation lead on multiple efforts. Tom was also one of the original co-founders of the current Raytheon standard for Integrated Flight Simulations.

He holds Ph.D. and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
