Fovus is a stealth-mode tech startup founded by Fulton Schools computer science faculty member Fengbo Ren. They are developing next-generation cloud high-performance computing (HPC) solutions for enterprises. Their mission is to democratize HPC for all.  Fovus is currently working with world-leading heavy equipment manufacturers and national laboratories to help accelerate their digital R&D at reduced costs & improved efficiency.

Full-stack developer

Basic information:

  • This is a fully remote full-time position.
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
  • There will be a probationary period of 4 months.
  • Equity compensation will be offered post the probationary period.
  • U.S. work authorization is required. The employer is willing to sponsor candidates post the probationary period.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Design, implement and support software features of our cloud platform.
  • Maintain a reliable product during periods of massive dynamic scale.
  • Interface with partners on platform-related technical issues.

Basic qualifications:

  • Knowledge of a modern programming language.
  • Knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals such as object-oriented design, algorithm design, data structures, problem-solving, and complexity analysis.
  • Knowledge of cloud architectures, distributed systems, scalable databases, and virtualization technologies.
  • Passionate to take HPC engineering problems to the cloud at an unprecedented scale.
  • Quick learner and adaptor.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Risk taker who is not scared of stretching his/her limits.

Software engineering intern (fall semester)

Basic information:

  • This is a fully remote position.
  • Current students are welcome to apply.
  • You are expected to work on a flexible basis with no less than 20 hours per week on average.
  • U.S. work authorization (CPT/OPT) is required.
  • Your software skills will be enhanced to the next level from this internship experience.
