The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) is a premier research organization solving the toughest challenges faced by our nation and military today. The Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (CERL) is ERDC’s premier center for developing technologies that provide high-quality facilities and realistic training lands to the Department of Defense (DoD). The Army Corps of Engineers CERL lab located in Champaign, Illinois, will be offering several internships during Summer 2023 to qualified ASU applicants.

Eligibility:

  • Minimum GPA of 2.75.
  • Undergraduate students (currently in their sophomore year or higher), master’s degree or doctoral students, and postdoctoral scholars are all encouraged to apply.
  • Fields of study include all natural and life sciences disciplines, all engineering disciplines, mathematics, environmental studies and resource management, computer science and software engineering, GIS and urban planning (some social sciences fields are eligible depending upon the internship opportunity).
  • Dates: 10 weeks running from the middle of May 2023 to the end of July 2023.
  • Stipend range (designed also to cover travel and housing costs) is roughly $2,700 to $5,900 per month (depending on experience and education level).
