Do you have a novel idea or unique invention? Do you want to better understand intellectual property and the patent process? You are cordially invited to join a panel of United States Patent and Trademark Office Judicial leadership in a special opportunity to learn about USPTO and their role in granting and protecting intellectual property. A team of Lead USPTO Patent Judges will provide attendees with an inside look at the multifaceted patent process and the role of the Patent Trail and Appeal Board, or PTAB. Additionally, they will share many of the free resources developed by the USPTO and PTAB to assist innovators and inventors as they navigate through the patenting process.

Joining the distinguished panelists from USPTO will be a team from SkySong Innovations, ASU’s exclusive intellectual property management and tech transfer office. This team will share the technology transfer process for ASU faculty and staff and discuss additional resources for all that are innovating within the university.

Lunch will be provided to all attendees, courtesy of the J. Orin Edson Entrepreneurship + Innovation Institute.

Virtual attendees will be provided a live stream link prior to the start of the presentation to the email associated with registration.

Immediately following lunch, the Western Regional Office, or WRO, of USPTO will be hosting “Office Hours” for interested students looking to have meaningful discussions about IP, USPTO resources, and receive trademark consultation. A formal signup for office hours will be shared with registrants closer to the event date.
