Apply to Milton Sommerfeld awards to advance algae research by May 10

The Milton Sommerfeld Fund for Algae Research was created to continue Professor Milton Sommerfeld’s legacy of assisting students in their work to advance the field of algae research.

Undergraduate and graduate students pursuing or interested in the field are invited to submit a one page application.

Apply to the Milton Sommerfeld Fund for Algae Research via email to Professor Kiril Hristovski at [email protected] by Friday, May 10, 2024.

Applications should include:

  • The name of the student.
  • The ASU program in which the student is enrolled.
  • The name of the project mentor.
  • A one-page description of the proposed or ongoing algae related project.

Projects may be related to all aspects of algae applications and implications, including environmental, engineering, socio-economic, business, sustainability or other focus areas.
