Join the IEEE Student Branch at ASU in collaboration with the IEEE USA to learn about the CHIPS and Science Act, a landmark piece of legislation that has massive implications for the field of electrical engineering, computer engineering and the semiconductor industry as a whole.

The CHIPS and Science Act provides $52.7 billion for American semiconductor research, development, manufacturing and workforce development. This investment strengthens U.S. supply chains, creates good-paying American jobs and ensures U.S. leadership in semiconductors — technologies that form the foundation of everything from automobiles to household appliances to defense systems. Additionally, its focus on workforce development creates new opportunities for future engineers, technologists and historically underserved communities to participate and thrive in the industry.

Many electrical and computer engineering students will end up working in semiconductor companies. So, don’t miss the chance to learn about the future prospects of the semiconductor industry in the U.S. from one of the individuals who lobbied for the CHIPS and Science Act. Moreover, their firsthand experience and involvement will bring an insider perspective into how this act has and will continue to affect both the industry and the United States.

This is a unique opportunity to gain firsthand insights into the creation of this legislation, its goals and its potential impact on the semiconductor industry in the U.S.
