Registered Fulton Student Organizations are eligible to apply for Fall 2018-Spring 2019 Dean’s Funding by noon on September 12, 2018 for funding to support your organization’s activities that meet the IRA’S standard, and get more connected to the Fulton Schools community.

Student organizations are encouraged to apply for funding for events, projects, and/or activities that meet the IRA Standard:

  • Interaction: encourage student interaction with faculty, staff, or industry
  • Recognition: brings prestige and recognition to the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering
  • Academic: enhance the engineering or technical education of students
  • Student mentoring: facilitates peer-to-peer student mentoring

Proposals must be reviewed and signed by your faculty/staff advisor.

Organizations who have questions about the Dean’s Funding process that are not answered on the Dean’s Funding page are encouraged to contact Cortney Loui, coordinator-student engagement, by making an appointment.

The Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships (SULI) program is now accepting applications for the Fall 2018 term. During this 16-week program, you will research under the guidance of laboratory staff scientists or engineers on projects supporting the DOE mission. Each DOE facility offers different research opportunities, and on the application, you may select your top two choices.

New Undergraduate Research Opportunity: Design and prediction of materials’ structure-property relationships by machine learning/data mining

Bin Mu, an assistant professor for the School for Matter, Transport and Energy of the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, has a research opening for Fulton Undergraduate Research Initiative (FURI), Master’s Opportunity for Research in Engineering (MORE), Honors Research students and volunteer students regarding the design and prediction of materials’ structure-property relationships by machine learning/data mining.

The project is to develop a machine learning /data mining code for developing structure-property relationships of porous materials, which can be used in gas separation, CO2 capture, and water treatment applications.
