Urban communities all over the United States are facing similar water-related challenges: increasing demands from growing populations, lack of adequate supplies, aging infrastructure, effects of climate change, and limited funding and resources.

The School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment welcomes B. Narayanan, president and CEO of Carollo Engineers, who will deliver the SSEBE Distinguished Lecture on the topic “Potable Water Reuse — A Key Element of the One Water Paradigm” on Tuesday, March 20, 2018.

Faculty, staff, students and the public are invited to attend this free event. Lunch will be served.

About the speaker

B. Narayanan has an undergraduate degree in civil engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, a master’s in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a doctorate in civil and environmental engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. He has been with Carollo Engineers since 1990, and has been serving as the president and CEO of the company since 2012. Prior to that, he used to head up the company’s wastewater treatment practice. Carollo Engineers is the largest engineering firm in the nation focused solely on water and has more than 1,000 employees in 42 offices across the country.
