GoinGlobal — Joyce’s Career Tip of the Week

If you are still looking for a summer internship, a job after graduation or information about cities in other parts of the country (or the world), GoinGlobal is a valuable resource. Fulton Schools students can access GoinGlobal through Handshake. First, click on “Career Center” then click “Resources.”

There are over 16 million employment listings in GoinGlobal’s database. You can find opportunities in public and private organizations of all sizes and specialties. International students can use the H1B database to identify American employers who have a pattern of seeking to hire international professionals with specific skills. This information can be used to target current openings.

Finally, GoinGlobal has Career Guides for countries and U.S. and global cities. These guides provide local information for job seeking, including job boards, staffing agencies and career fairs. Users have access to industry and employment trends as well as detailed cost of living considerations. The career guides also provide insights to local culture and give advice on how to act appropriately in both social and professional settings, including guidelines for interview preparation and follow-up.

There are even training videos on how to use each section. Information is valuable currency for job seekers and GoinGlobal can provide you with LOTS!

Peer career coaches are also available to help you with your search for internships and jobs. You can schedule appointments with peer coaches through Handshake.
