Leshin, director of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory since May 2022, is a distinguished geochemist and space scientist with extensive leadership experience in academia and government, including senior NASA positions. An ASU alumna of the Class of 1987, Leshin served as the Dee and John Whiteman Dean’s Distinguished Professor in the Department of Geological Sciences at ASU from 1998 to 2005, and director of the ASU Center for Meteorite Studies from 2003 to 2005.
