Big questions and big thinkers

The event will include a series of talks and a meet and greet reception:

  • 1:30–3 p.m.: “Big Question” talks.
  • 3–4 p.m.: “Big Think” conversations.
  • 4–5 p.m.: Meet and greet reception.

  • Phil Metzger, planetary physics: How can we ensure that space resources benefit all people on Earth, not just the privileged few?
  • Shannon Curry, space physics: What have we learned at Earth and what can we learn at Mars?
  • MJ Rubenstein, religion: Do human beings deserve another planet?
  • Christopher Johnson, space law: What space law innovations enable interplanetary humanity?
  • Hiro Ono, robotics: How far can we (humans and robots) go?
  • Jacques Arnould, ethics: Why would a nation state encourage the emergence of an interplanetary humanity?
  • Lisa Ruth Rand, history: How can lessons from the past help inform space futures?
