Join The Theme Park Engineering and Design club for their “TPEAD Talks” event where they will host current Walt Disney Imagineer and ASU Alumnus Matias Cena.

Matias will appear virtually to discuss his journey into his role as Sr. Architectural Designer at Walt Disney Imagineering and answer any questions students may have about the themed entertainment industry.

Matias Cena is a designer and creative leader focused on architecture, experience and products. Matias completed his Bachelor’s of Architecture at Cal Poly Pomona, but also recently completed his Master’s of Science in Biomimicry at ASU. His work is deeply inspired by natural ecosystems, which fuels his personal research and development around carbon-negative materials and products derived from biomass waste. 

He is currently serving as a Senior Architectural Designer for Walt Disney Imagineering. He’s been involved in such projects Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout! at Disney’s California Adventure, the Iron Man Experience and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Nano Battle at Hong Kong Disneyland and most recently as a Field Art Director for the new Avengers Campus at Disneyland Paris.
