Join the School of Manufacturing Systems and Networks as they host Brian Baughman, a chief engineer for Honeywell Aerospace, for a seminar on the various types of additive manufacturing in use at Honeywell for the production and repair of metallic parts for the aviation industry.

Baughman will provide an overview of how Honeywell employs various forms of additive manufacturing, as well as the major challenges and barriers in qualifying aviation parts, will be presented.

About the speaker

Brian Baughman is a chief engineer for Honeywell Aerospace, where he is responsible for implementing manufacturing technology and innovation. Baughman has more than 20 years of manufacturing experience and played a key role in creating and operating Honeywell’s Additive Manufacturing Technology Center, focusing on laser powder bed fusion printing.

At Honeywell, he has held positions within the repair and overhaul, materials and process engineering, and supply chain organizations. Prior to joining Honeywell, Baughman worked for the Edison Welding Institute as part of the automation and arc welding group, leading projects within the automotive, heavy manufacturing, oil and gas, and nuclear industries. Baughman holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in welding engineering from The Ohio State University.
