Explore PhD opportunities in control systems at ASU, Sept. 28

Control systems and artificial intelligence, or AI, are transforming autonomous systems that perceive, learn, decide, and interact with the physical world. For prospective doctoral students interested in leading this transformation, the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering integrates control theory, AI, optimization, distributed and embedded systems and cyber-physical systems to develop intelligent technologies for robotics, healthcare, transportation, energy and smart infrastructure.
Doctoral students in this program gain rigorous expertise in modeling, estimation, decision making, learning and feedback control to solve high-impact problems in autonomous vehicles, humanoid and wearable robotics, smart manufacturing, healthcare and resilient infrastructure.
This webinar will be hosted by Jennie Si, professor in the School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering, part of the Fulton Schools at ASU. She received her PhD in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Notre Dame and joined ASU as faculty in 1991. Si’s expertise includes reinforcement learning/optimal control/approximate dynamic programming, data-driven real-time control of nonlinear dynamic systems and control of wearable robots.
During the webinar, attendees will learn about:
- Core facilities, labs and unique capabilities.
- Industry and government collaborators.
- Research opportunities.
- Research thrusts: Foundations of modeling, control and theory, AI and decision making, intelligent systems and societal impact.
