ASU-operated Center of Excellence for Energy awards seed funding to six renewable energy projects in Egypt
The Center of Excellence for Energy, supported by the American people through USAID and operated by ASU, awarded six teams seed funding for their renewable energy ventures. Led by Brent Sebold, director of Entrepreneurship + Innovation, or E + I, at the Fulton Schools, the event was the culmination of a six-month E + I program featuring two seminars, selection of six venture teams based at Egyptian partner universities, five months of mentoring by ASU faculty and the exciting conclusion in a “Shark Tank”-style Venture Development Program Demo Day.

Held from Tuesday, March 25, 2025–Thursday, March 27, 2025, the Academic Bowl is a prestigious quiz bowl tournament pitting teams of students from each ASU college against each other for glory and scholarship money. The Fulton Schools are currently searching for interested participants, with no specific background necessary.

Attend one of four events to see how students would solve problems related to sustainability, health, security and joy of living. As part of their “Futuristic Solutions for the Grand Challenges” projects, students will present their solutions through models and posters.

The FURI Symposium is now the Fulton Forge Student Research Expo
The students you meet at the Fulton Forge Student Research Expo are the same as those who participated in the FURI Symposium in past semesters. They have conducted independent research under the guidance of a faculty mentor and present the findings of their work with the community at a semiannual poster session open to the public. These projects are inspired by real-world problems in need of innovative solutions.
