Academic Bowl teams face off in front of an audience.

Cheer on the Fulton Schools Academic Bowl teams on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, and Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at the Student Pavilion on the ASU Tempe campus! Academic Bowl pits four-person teams of academic athletes against each other in fast-paced trivia rounds on topics ranging from political science to pop culture and everything in between. Team finalists earn a championship title and scholarship prizes.

The Fulton Schools teams competed well on Tuesday, earning the first and second highest amount of points, but both ultimately lost to their opponents, The College Gold and W. P. Carey Gold. However, both teams had high scores that qualified them for the semifinal rounds on Wednesday! The Fulton Schools Gold and Maroon teams will face off against each other in Wednesday’s second match after W. P. Carey Gold and The College Gold compete in the first round.

Tuesday, March 21: 

  • 4–4:15 p.m.:  W. P. Carey vs. The College Gold.
  • 4:20–4:35 p.m.: Fulton Schools Gold vs. the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts.
  • 4:40–5:55 p.m.:  Subsequent rounds to determine the winner of this bracket.
  • 7–7:15 p.m.:  W. P. Carey vs. Global Futures.
  • 7:20–7:35 p.m.:  Fulton Schools Maroon vs. The College Maroon.
  • 7:40–8:55 p.m.:  Subsequent rounds to determine the winner of this bracket.

Wednesday, March 22: 

  • 5:30–5:45 p.m.:  The College Gold team vs. W. P. Carey Gold team
  • 5:50–6:05 p.m.: Fulton Schools Maroon team vs. Fulton Schools Gold team.
  • 6:10–7:25 p.m.: Subsequent Rounds to determine 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place winners.

All Fulton Schools students are invited and encouraged to attend and Fulton Student Organizations will earn Dean’s Funding points. Wear Fulton Schools t-shirts and gear. Bring your friends and prepare for a great time!

Results

The Fulton Schools Maroon team beat the Fulton Schools Gold team in the second round on Wednesday but lost to W. P. Carey Gold, placing third with a 1-2 record.

The College Gold team ended up in first place with a 3-0 record while W. P. Carey Gold earned second place with a 2-2 record.
