The College Autism Network invites you to join their campus partners, including the Fulton Schools, for an informative and encouraging event designed to help autistic and other neurodivergent high school students and their families explore the landscape of college opportunities and to strengthen the skills of those professionals who support them on this journey. Building Bridges is for:

  • Autistic and neurodivergent high school students, as well as the families that support them, who are “college-curious” and want to understand what it takes to prepare for a successful higher education experience.
  • Secondary school counselors and educational consultants with a particular interest in working with autistic and neurodivergent students to explore the landscape of higher education and make an informed choice about postsecondary education.
  • Campus professionals whose work includes the support and education of autistic and neurodivergent students, including advisors, instructors, counselors, residence life, student activities and orientation professionals, instructional designers, public safety professionals and others.

Thursday, Feb. 20, 2025

  • Focus on students and families: Preparing for a successful college experience.
  • Counselors and consultants: How to best assess and assist autistic students interested in postsecondary education opportunities.
  • Info fair featuring programs, professionals and local institutions who work with autistic and neurodivergent students.

Friday, Feb. 21, 2025

  • Focus on creating postsecondary (college and university) environments that give autistic and neurodivergent students their best opportunity for academic and social success.

Attend for one day or both days. All are welcome to attend all sessions.
